- Go to the ‘DocuSign App Launcher’ App in Salesforce and click on the eSignature Tab [Left Menu].

2. To enable the ‘Built-in’ eSignature, first select the ‘Settings Tab’ in the eSignature Section. Then, ensure that the ‘Built-in’ eSignature is activated.

3. If you would like to send all envelopes through a single user (therefore, only one DocuSign user would be required), you can set it from this screen.

4. Now, still from the eSignature menu, you can go ahead and select the ‘Templates’ Tab, and therefore, click on ‘Create Template‘.

5. Set the Name for your Envelope Template, and select the Object that will be serving as a Data Source for your Documents.
Select the object with your attention on, as you won’t be able to change it later.

6. In this screen, upload the Document you’ll be sending out for signature.

7. Afterwards, This is how your screen should look like, after at least one Document has been uploaded. Click on ‘Next’.

8. Next, In order to set the Recipient(s). We have deliberately chosen ‘By Role’ to show you how to set a Recipient using a Salesforce value reference (zoom in, to check it out better) and subsequently, click on ‘Next’.

9. On this stage, we are going to define the Merge fields we need to use in our document as values, Subsequently, you can define said fields as read only, required and a few more things.
You can define a label for the merge field, which doesn’t have to be the same that the field has in Salesforce.

10. Finally, for every merge field added, you’ll see a green toast, similar to the one on the following screen:

11. Next, to set reminders, envelope expiration date and the ‘Sending Experience’, which is the one we’ll focus here, we have the ‘Options’ stage. Afterwards, you can select the ‘Send Now’ option, as we want the envelope to be send out by simply clicking on a button.

12. In this Step, you’ll be able to finally set some DocuSign writebacks for Salesforce Fields.

13. Finally, once you have finish these configurations, scroll up and click on ‘Save and Close‘.
